“Dolce far niente” is a common phrase across the mountains in neighbouring Italy. Here in Lesachtal Valley, we call it “lei losn” – just let it be. Leaf through a book in the hammock, chat beneath an apple tree, bask in the sun on a lounger or sweat in the sauna ... that’s what a holiday should be.
Your hosts Erwin and Claudia
We are two lively and cheerful souls, but grounded visionaries as well. We have a side business running a centuries-old farm that Erwin inherited from his family. Everything you experience, eat and enjoy with us is authentic.
A dynamic duo. Erwin is in charge of the activity programme for our guests and the stable, while Claudia takes care of administrative business and the farm garden.
How it all started ...
The Mesnerhof has been around for over 250 years. Erwin inherited the property from his mother in the eighth generation and interestingly as the first man. His parents were the first to offer farm holidays in the 1960s. Over the decades, a few rooms for guests in the main house transformed into Genusshof Mesner Aktiv, a complex with several holiday flats, a separate apartment house and a lively programme of activities in Lesachtal Valley. Today, Erwin is in charge of rentals and the farm business together with his wife Claudia.
